Martyn Brabbins appointed Music Director of The English National Opera
Martyn began his playing with Towcester Junior Band at a young age and became Solo Euphonium of the Senior Band in the 1970s, whilst still at school. After University, Martyn became Conductor of Towcester Studio Band, following the retirement of Mr Bill Scholes in 1980 and, after success a the Midlands Area contest in 1981, took the Band to the second section national finals in October of that year. Martyn continued to conduct the Band with success until 1984 when other professional opportunities took him away.
Towcester Studio Band congratulates Martyn and wishes him success at the English National Opera.
